I know I haven't posted in a while and regular posts have fallen by the wayside. The fact is I'm finding the work/life/study/blog thing kinda hard to balance at the moment and inevitably something's got to give.
I've also been on a bit of a health kick; which has left me tired and feeling a little sick (so sitting in front of a computer after doing so all day in work hasn't been very appealing.) Not exactly the result you would expect from eating more healthily but I have blood sugar issues due to a medical condition (not diabetes) and it's just my body's reaction to not being constantly bombarded with refined sugars. I'm sure I'll feel on top of the world in the next few days.
So there are my lame excuses for being a terrible blogger and now for the fun stuff... Photo Dump/Life Update! Whoa yeah!
Halloween Weekend:It feels like Halloween was aaaaages ago but it was only last weekend and I had A LOT of fun so I feel duty bound to share it with you.
On the Friday myself and The Boy went to
Sam's new place for dinner. I had a snoop around her cute new home and I am now utterly jealous! - She has a Craft Room *shakes fist* We also got to meet her 3 gorgeous little kitties who are just adorable, ate a wonderful Mexican feast prepared by Sam and then a vegan Irish Apple Bread Pudding that I had attempted (it wasn't half bad , even if I do say so myself.) We also carved pumpkins!
Sam went for the classic look
The Boy and I decided to be a little artsy fartsy, which proved to be quite difficult. Expert pumpkin carvers we are not.
On Saturday I went to Cardiff to a little girlie gathering. Our hostess
Kim made a really tasty Thai green veggie curry and I made Halloween inspired 'purple' velvet cupcakes for pudding.
Raspberry vodka in crystal skulls and vodka jelly were also consumed; which resulted in some wonderful renditions of some classics by Prince, Whitney, Madonna and Kylie being performed. We are so cool.
We then all watched Halloween, which I have never seen before because I am a huge wimp. I was so proud of myself the next day as I wasn't scared by it at all! Although I think the alcohol may have helped.
Bonfire Night:Yesterday was Bonfire night, which I'm not exactly a huge fan of. I'm nervous around sparklers and I'm not very good with sudden loud noises. I know it makes me sound like a real stick in the mud and a bit of a freak but all the firework safety adverts you were subjected to as a child really got to me, plus I'm slightly deaf which means I'm quite used to being in a quiet little world of my own. Don't get me wrong I do like firework displays, I just prefer to watch them from the comfort of my bedroom window. That is why The Boy and I cooked a yummy meal together and then watched Constantine; much better than being stuck outside soaked to the skin getting a crick in your neck.
P.S. I should point out that all photos were stolen from either Sam or Kim.
